MTB Photo of the Week: Podium Focused

This weeks photo of the week from the Bike198 Flickr group was shot by steveoheinrichs77 at a Super D event in Oregon.

I am actually participating in a 6 hour event over the weekend, so racing has been on the brain during the last couple of rides. The look on this riders face portrays the focus of looking ahead to the podium. Each second is pinned on hitting that next turn perfectly, powering out of obstacles and catching every precious second that could make the difference between finishing 1st or 34th.

The intense focus seems to slow down time, quiet outside distractions and bring peace with rubber to dirt. Each painful pedal stroke is a means to and end…victory…
