Do you have an idea for a bicycle that might persuade the average person, with no prior interest in cycling, to park the car and pedal to work? That is the main idea behind this competition. The scope is up to you- choose to come up with a whole new form factor for a pedal powered machine, or focus on specific details that you consider key to accomplishing the goal of getting the average non-cyclist to consider riding a bike for transportation.
James over at Bicycle Design shot me a IM the other day about his post on John Finley Scott. For those of you that don’t already know, Scott was the first to build a purpose built mountain bike. This, of course, made Scott “Way Ahead of His Time” (the article’s title).
Okay, I thought I could avoid this whole “tag” thing. You see, Ron hit me with the dreaded “six things about yourself” tag a couple weeks ago. At the time, I was too busy to respond so I used the convenient excuse that I had been tagged before and that the same six things still applied.
Bicycle Design posted up an article today on his ride with the prototype of the Hindsight: My ride with Hindsight. This device provides all of your cycling computer needs, plus GPS, with one really cool feature that no one else has…a rear view camera.
I think I have mentioned this before, but from time to time…I am going to post up the blogs that I read on a daily basis. These are some of the ones that I have found that have really caught my interest.
