Mountain Cycle Frames In For Review

For those of you that were following my Facebook and Twitter account…you are already aware that I was waiting on 3 big brown boxes to come out of the big brown truck yesterday. What was in those 3 large brown boxes…bikes of course!

I will get into the history of Mountain Cycle and what they are looking to accomplish over the next couple of years later, but in the meantime…here is what was in the boxes.

Mountain Cycle Fury

This 140mm travel, single pivot frame from Mountain Cycle is a stout 5″ frame. As you can see from the gusseting and size of the swing arm, this frame can take a beating. The build kit includes everything from a Rock Shox Pike 454 Air U-Turn to SRAM X9 components.

Mountain Cycle Rumble

This AM/DJ frame from Mountain Cycle is a limited edition run that is hand painted. A regular polished version is the main production run. I have wanted to get on a hardtail that could handle a Pike for awhile now, so I am really excited about this one. Be on the lookout for some night shots under the lights at our local pump/bmx track. This bike will be getting a true workout there and at our local freeride spot.

A Couple More Points

I used to stare at Mountain Bike Action magazines back in the early ’90’s when the Mountain Cycle San Andreas used to be on the cover on a regular basis. It is great to see Mountain Cycle making a push at the big time again, and I am glad to be a part of it.

Hint – The HUGE giveaway is going to involve Mountain Cycle…stay tuned for more info!

UPDATE!

I have been getting several people asking about weights…so here is how they sit right now. Please keep in mind that build kits really determine overall bike weight more than anything, so results may vary. All weights in lbs.
